South Africa is targeting $10 billion in space-qualified exports by 2030, building from approximately $1 billion today. Africa's space economy is now valued at $25 billion and projected to reach $40 billion by 2030. The African Space Agency went operational in 2025, and more than twenty countries across the continent now run space programmes. SANSA, SKA and MeerKAT have put the Western Cape at the centre of the continent's space ambitions.
The students sitting in your classroom today will graduate into a world that needs space scientists — but also space lawyers, space writers, space accountants, space designers and space teachers. Most of them don't know the industry exists yet. Neither, often, do their teachers.
SEEC South Africa exists to give every educator the tools, the network and the confidence to bring space into their teaching — whatever they teach.
We are licensed by Space Center Houston, the global benchmark in space education, and are bringing their conference to Africa for the first time. This is not training for space teachers. It's training every educator to use space as a context for learning — because space needs accountants, artisans, designers, technicians and communicators as much as it needs engineers.

South Africa is reviving its space economy at a critical moment. SANSA reports around twenty South African companies already export $1 billion in space-qualified components and satellite systems each year, against a national target of $10 billion by 2030 — a tenfold increase in six years. That growth needs people, and those people are in classrooms right now. SEEC South Africa 2027 is the first step in a sustained, year-on-year training and talent-development platform that integrates South Africa into the global space education calendar.
